The Real Outback?

The problem with travelling with a dog you aren't welcome in National Parks. Would of liked to stop at Gundabooka National Park but alas no dog permitted.  Stopped for a break in Burke but decided not to stay as it had that look about it like pay day, pension day.

On to the Barringun Hotel  right on the border with Qld. We had a most interesting talk with the publican. She has out lived her husband and was still operating the licence after many years. She had come from Wagga and we talked about all sorts of things, sharp as a tack. Nice old lady. Set up camp at Tinnenburra on the creek.

Anzac Day at Cunnamulla. Charleville for a couple of nights in the CP doing tourist stuff like bike riding. Got into it with a camp oven dinner put on by the hosts, nice. Met other travellers, Gerry and Bruce and enjoyed their company. Met up with them again in Blackall. Heating up out here, nice.

Finally away and heading north

Wagga again, legal stuff.

On to Narrandera and catching up with people and the goss on what the new owners are doing with our park.

One month after settlement we are actually heading off to the great unknown, nice. FC at Goolgowi rest area. Hillston CP and the races but they were cancelled after 3 races due to concerns about the state of the track.  FC at Lake Cargelligo, Deadmans Point. Condobolin CP for one night.

We much prefer to free camp than the CP experience having to stop and book in directed to a particular site that not always suits etc. Free camping is nice, please yourself.

Stopped at Mount Hope Hotel for the night and got talking to some fellow travellers, shearers headed to a property for work and truck drivers. Good night, interesting people. We parked across the road sharing an area with some heavy transport vehicles hauling mining equipment north.

Cobar FC at the town reservoir then into town and the CP for two nights to catch up on washing and provisions.

Family and Communications

Stopped in at Marie's place to celebrate her 60th birthday and caught up with most of my side of the family. FC (free camped) in the street nearby.

On to Lake Eldon and the Darlingford Waters Boat Club to see Stewie. He has purchased an Ericsson Cellular Wireless Broadband Router and will fit it to the motor home so we have Internet and WiFi wherever we go. Nice dinner with Stewie and Denise on board their house boat. Again talking about old time and where are they now stuff.

Stopped at Shepparton to catch up with Trish's brother but they were not home.

Tocumwal camped on the river and back to Wagga more stuff to settle. Should free to go soon!
